Tennis Coach

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, this position is responsible for directing all phases of the youth tennis program including performing supervisory and administrative responsibilities.
Essential Duties:
Coordinate, schedule, promote and evaluate youth tennis programs offered by the city. This includes monitoring programs to ensure there is a positive and safe environment.
Create and lead practice plans at Tiny Tennis, U10 Tennis, and Jr. Team Tennis.
Maintain records and documentation for your tennis programming and training including compiling and providing monthly attendance records.
Participate in the hiring process of the tennis instructor and assistant instructor staff.
Plan and coordinator staff training including, but not limited to, orientation, first aid, sport specific drills, discipline within programs and general "work with children" training.
Supervise and schedule tennis program staff including conducting job performance evaluations.
Order program supplies and equipment.
Monitor, clean and put away equipment; and work with park and facilities maintenance staff to ensure facilities are safe and clean.
Act as liaison between parents and staff coaches.
Other Responsibilities:
Respond to emergencies and administer first aid and/or CPR as needed until help arrives.
Ensure city policies and procedures are followed.
Attend meetings, seminars and other training as needed.
Other duties as needed or assigned.
Previous experience playing competitive tennis
Previous experience coaching tennis at a high school level
MSHSL licensure as a high school coach
Knowledge of tennis skills, rules and strategies
Current first aid and CPR/AED certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have the ability to effectively teach and communicate with children including the ability to lead, motivate and have patience with participants
Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to compile and write reports
Must have excellent customer service skills including the ability to maintain composure under pressure
Ability to develop positive working relationships and maintain a respectful environment.
Display a positive and respectful attitude, be courteous and reliable
Ability to handle stress and/or stressful situations

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
