Rambling River Center Program Assistant- Part-time

This position is responsible for assisting with day to day operations of the Rambling River Center (RRC) including programming, fundraising, memberships, customer service, and making the facility safe, attractive and inviting to members and customers.
This is a 20 hour per week position. Typical hours will be Monday-Friday from 8:00 to noon, however, there will be occasional afternoon and weekend hours.
Essential Duties:
Greet and provide information to members and visitors of the center via telephone and/or in person.
Perform general duties such as ordering supplies, set-up facilities for various programs and events, and assist patrons as needed.
Assist with the day to day operations of the senior center to include sell and track general and fitness center memberships, inspect and troubleshoot fitness and safety equipment, sell newsletter ads, sales transactions, balance cash register and prepare daily deposits.
Work with the center coordinator and building and park maintenance staff to ensure the building, sidewalks, and entries are clean and cleared of debris and the fitness center's exercise equipment is cleaned and repaired in a timely manner.
Schedule and document volunteer hours worked and tasks completed and assist with volunteer training when needed.
In consultation with the center coordinator plan, facilitate and evaluate programs, events, and services including driving the senior center bus for programs that occur away from the center.
Assist center coordinator with providing accurate and timely promotional materials. Proof and edit the RRC newsletter and City News and Recreation Guide.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
High school diploma or GED equivalent
1 year of clerical, customer service, or program and event planning experience
Computer experience (Microsoft Office and web-based programs)
Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a Class B driver's license with passenger endorsement within 6 months of employment
CPR/AED Certification

Hiring Range: $16.84 - $19.32 per hour DOQ. This position is a pension eligible position.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
